UK artist Gilian Hamilton captures a sorrowful moment

Apposite with issues of the day, Gilian Hamilton's graphite composition, Sorrow,  captures a sense check for the world to ponder. Her work is recongized globally.

Gilian Hamilton is certainly a very talented draughtsman; this is especially evident in her graphite drawings that are stunning in their texture and depth with more than a resemblance to Caravaggio’s early drawings. Her pastel still lifes too are beautifully drawn, similar to those of Hockney and her figure studies are particularly strong and visually very appealing. She is quite varied in her style and output, indeed, it is surprising that all her works are from a single artist. – Stephen Ongpin, London and New York Fine Arts Dealer and Collector.
