Special Art Deco Handkerchief takes centre "stage"

This is one of only two known art deco handkerchiefs that were given to attendees at the world premiere of Gone with the Wind, 15th December 1939 at the Loew’s Grand Theatre in Atlanta.

Reputedly over 300,000 people lined the streets as limousines brought the stars to the theatre. This followed three days of festivities with the actual release date of 15 December declared a Georgian State holiday.

Winning ten Academy Awards and adjusted for inflation, Gone with the Wind is the biggest grossing film in history.
