Huge Huge turnout for exhibition launch night, 27 September 2019

Raglan Art with Risk

Standing shoulder to shoulder, over 200 people attended a very special launch night for the exhibition, Raglan Art with Risk. The Raglan Art community together with People of Fire, put on a spectacular display of acrylics, water colours, ceramics, clay and stoneware. Many works of art were sold on the night as the red dots regularly found their way onto the walls and plinth settings.

Mark Kilgour from the Trust Board MC'd the evening. Andrew Unternahrer, Dealer Principal at Ebbet Audi addresses the audience outlining the important of business being part of the Hamilton East Community. Dorothy Gilson, Board Chair and Chief Executive provided a brief history of the Trust and the Gallery. Richard Gemmell and Elsa Lye, respectively from Raglan Art and the People of Fire expressed their support for the Exhibition, the Gallery and the artists who were presenting their work.

Finally, David Bluett, on behalf of DB Chartered Accountants again presented the Volunteers' Choice Award. Diane Mayson-Hewitt's work Venice Canal took out the honours on this occasion with a beautiful water colour.

It was a wonderful night for artists, those who purchased their work and more importantly for the children's charities that will benefit from the money raised.
