Kirsten McIntosh's brilliant composition, Light on the Dunes, has sold to a local collector. Much admired by all gallery goers, for this painting Kirsten used many acrylic and oil layers to build up the colours and depth. The result is a stunning image of the Petone inlet towards Wellington Harbour, during the late afternoon.  This is where the first European settlers arrived on 22 January 1840, on the ship Aurora.
