From time to time, the Welcome Swallow Gallery is commissioned to provide bespoke art for gallery clients. Seen here is a beautiful composition from gallery artist Kirsten McIntosh. Typically, Kirsten's landscapes work energetically from foreground through to shards of light that capture hilly contours and finally dramatic skyscape. The commission was shown in the gallery prior to being collected by the client....

Not a day in the new Resident Artists' Gallery and Kirsten McIntosh's  Auckland Sky Tower composition has been snapped up. It is a remarkable painting that appears as a photographic negative but is in fact a use of unexpected colours with many acrylic layers to build up colour and depth.
