Out of Italy launch sees a packed out gallery

On pleasant seasonally warm Autumn night, 120 people came through the gallery door to see the the exhibition Out of Italy, featuring gallery artists, Sandra Turner-Barlow and Elena Brambilla. The gathered art-lovers were treated to 36 very special pieces that represented aspects and reflections on the Italy of long ago, typically from Sandra Turner-Barlow, with the more modern visions most evident from the brushes of Elena Brambilla.

Opening the evening, gallery curator, Clive Gilson highlighted the depth and insight of the studies on display while the artists shared their very personal journeys. Turner Barlow took the audience through her study period in Italy, followed by her ongoing travels - the grand tour of European art. She thanked the consortia that had supported her travels that enabled the exhibition to take place. Brambilla, claiming Italian heritage, explained the passion that went hand in hand with being an Italian artist. She took the audience through her work demonstrating how she was inspired to capture the powerful images on display.

Both speeches were intently listened to and clearly, warmly appreciated. In total 7 paintings were sold on the opening night. A fantastic start to the exhibition.
